The Keep
Playing it as it lies.
-
The Keep is an exclusive 18-hole mountaintop golf course designed by Rees Jones and Bill Bergin and limited to 125 Members. At 7,800 yards, it offers over 1.5 miles of cliff-edge play, making it appear like a traditional Scottish headlands course. The physical scale and location of the course required an equally powerful name and identity.
-
During the Middle Ages, a “keep” was a fortified tower within a castle that served as the strongest and safest place during an attack. The word seemed perfect for the course, both for its nod to history and its defensible position.
The icon is a stylized version of the chi rho — a symbol made up of the first two letters of the Greek word for Christ. The two letters are superimposed so that the vertical stroke of the rho intersects the center of the chi.
The chi has been modified to resemble the letter “k,” and reversed on the left side of the mark. Meanwhile the vertical bar has been extended up and down to add scale to the mark.

The Keep’s Member bag tag is one of the most unique in the game of golf. It is eight ounces of copper with The Keep name and icon debossed on one side, while the Member number is debossed on the opposite.
